Arkety
Outdoor Tile Pavers with A Concrete Look.

Arkety
Arkety pairs industrial concrete aesthetics with outdoor durability in 2cm porcelain pavers.
A poured-concrete aesthetic without the cracking, Arkety is a 2cm outdoor porcelain paver in four urban greys: Black, Light Grey, Silver and Dark Grey. The surface carries the subtle mottling of cast concrete, and because the faces are non-repeating, adjoining pavers read as individually poured panels rather than copies. Formats include 24x24, 24x48 and a large 48x48 square.
Concrete patios in Metro Vancouver crack, stain and demand sealing; porcelain sidesteps all three. Arkety absorbs almost no water, shrugs off freeze and thaw cycles and wipes clean without ever being sealed. The anti-slip texture is welcome through the rainy season. It is a natural fit for contemporary homes, laneway houses and commercial patios where the architecture calls for a crisp, minimal ground plane.

Where Arkety Works
Modern patios
Tight-jointed 48x48 pavers deliver the seamless poured-slab look that suits contemporary West Coast builds, without the control joints, cracking or resealing that real concrete brings with it.
Rooftop terraces
The 2cm body sits on pedestals over a membrane, so a laneway house roof or condo terrace gets a level concrete-look floor with drainage running freely beneath.
Pool and hot tub surrounds
Anti-slip texture keeps the wet zone safe, and the cool greys pair cleanly with water. Porcelain will not stain from splashed pool chemicals or flake apart in winter.
Walkways and side yards
The 24x24 and 24x48 formats set on compacted gravel make quick, permeable paths that can be lifted and releveled if the grade ever settles underneath them.
Design Notes
Pairing & Layout Ideas
Run one colour wall to wall for the minimal look, or frame a Light Grey field with a Dark Grey border to define a dining zone. Arkety sits comfortably beside the sandstone warmth of Blendstone where a planted garden needs softening, and Adjustable Height Pedestals take the same pavers over rooftops. Around the pavers, black steel planters, board-formed concrete walls and horizontal cedar screens all reinforce the modern palette.
FAQ
Arkety Questions
Can Arkety match my indoor concrete-look tile?
The greys are chosen to sit close to popular indoor concrete-look porcelain, so an inside to outside flow from living room to patio is achievable. Bring a sample of your indoor tile to compare against Arkety in daylight before committing, since greys shift with light.
Which grey should I pick?
Silver and Light Grey keep a shaded north-facing yard from feeling dark, while Dark Grey and Black hide leaf litter and scuffs better in high-use areas. Many projects use two: a lighter field with a darker border or step detail.
How do the pavers handle Vancouver winters?
Well. Porcelain's near-zero absorption means water cannot get in, freeze and split the paver, which is the failure mode of concrete and some natural stone. Snow can be shovelled with a plastic-edged blade, and no seasonal sealing is required.
Do I need special grout outdoors?
Joints in mortar-set installations should use an exterior-rated grout; gravel, sand and pedestal installs typically use open or polymeric sand joints instead. We can walk you through the right joint detail for your base when you visit the Richmond showroom with your project plans.
