Where vein cut travertine draws lines, cross cut draws clouds. Florence LF captures that softer, mottled travertine face on large format porcelain, its warm mineral pattern spreading evenly across 120 x 60 and 120 x 120 cm panels. Non-repeating faces preserve the randomness that makes cross cut stone so easy on the eye, and the Natural finish in particular lands remarkably close to honed travertine.
Porcelain removes travertine's famous drawbacks. There are no open pores to fill, no sealing schedule, and no worry about spills or wet rooms, since absorption is near zero. That opens the warm travertine palette to kitchens, showers and busy hallways across Metro Vancouver homes, in panels large enough that grout barely interrupts the stone effect.

Warm open-plan floors
The cloudy, even pattern carries beautifully across big areas, so a single 120 x 120 cm floor can run from kitchen to living room without visual fatigue.
Shower walls and tub decks
Real travertine struggles in wet zones; this porcelain does not. Full-height panels create a soft-toned, low-joint surround, and the non-porous surface wipes clean after every single shower.

Florence LF suits sun-washed, organic schemes: cream cabinetry, rattan and linen textures, unlacquered brass and plenty of greenery. Its natural partner is Venice LF, the vein cut sibling, with the linear cut on walls and the cloudy cut underfoot echoing how travertine is used in stone. Cream Chamber also extends the warm palette into adjoining rooms. Warm ivory grout in a tight joint lets the panels read as one quarried surface.

How close is this to real travertine?
Visually very close, especially in the Natural finish, and the non-repeating faces reproduce the random mottle of cross cut stone. Functionally it is better behaved: no pores to fill, no sealing, no etching. You trade the geology for a surface that survives real households.
Is Florence LF light or dark?
It sits in the warm, light-to-mid range typical of cross cut travertine. Because faces vary panel to panel, tone shifts gently across an installation, which is part of the charm. Review several panels together before layout so the blend across your floor feels balanced.
Can it go in a steam-heavy shower?
Yes. Porcelain's near-zero absorption means daily steam and spray do not affect it, and unlike natural travertine there are no voids for moisture or soap to settle into. Use the Natural finish on any wet floor surface and either finish on the walls.
What grout width should we use?
Large format panels are typically set with tight joints, commonly around 2 to 3 mm depending on the installer's assessment of the substrate flatness. Tighter joints strengthen the slab illusion; slightly wider ones are more forgiving on floors that are not perfectly level.
