Asphalt Wall Tile
Concrete Look In Ceramic Wall Tile.

Asphalt Wall Tile
Asphalt wall tiles deliver an industrial concrete aesthetic to vertical surfaces.
For walls that want the urban calm of cast concrete, Asphalt Wall Tile prints that surface onto a slim 0.8cm ceramic body in four tones: Off White, Mud, Grit and Fume. The mottled faces are non-repeating, so a full wall carries the subtle drift of real concrete rather than a duplicated pattern, and both matte and gloss finishes are offered.
Ceramic is the sensible material for vertical work: lighter than porcelain, easy to cut around outlets and niches, and economical across big feature walls. Unlike actual concrete or cement render, the tile never hairline-cracks, powders or needs sealing, and it wipes clean. It fits lofts, modern kitchens and bathrooms, and commercial interiors around Metro Vancouver chasing an industrial palette without the mess of the real thing.

Applications
Where Asphalt Wall Tile Works
Feature and accent walls
A floor-to-ceiling concrete-look wall behind a bed, sofa or television delivers the loft aesthetic in a weekend of tiling rather than days of specialist cement plastering.
Kitchen backsplashes
The muted greys sit quietly behind open shelving and stainless appliances, and a glazed surface shrugs off cooking grease that raw concrete finishes absorb and hold.
Bathroom and shower walls
Concrete-look walls give bathrooms a spa restraint, and ceramic handles steam and daily water contact that would stain and effloresce a genuine troweled cement surface over time.
Cafes and retail interiors
Commercial fit-outs lean on this look, and a wall tile version installs fast, wipes down nightly and never needs the patching that site-applied cement finishes eventually do.
Design Notes
Pairing & Layout Ideas
The four tones are designed to layer: Off White walls with a Fume niche, or Grit above a Mud wainscot. Warm the industrial base with wood, either real shelving or Larchwood Wall Tile on an adjoining surface, and keep metals black or raw steel. Fume pairs handsomely with brass if the room needs a lift. A matching grey grout makes the wall read as one plane; a contrasting grout turns the format into a visible grid.
FAQ
Asphalt Wall Tile Questions
Can I use Asphalt Wall Tile on a floor?
No. It is a ceramic wall tile at 0.8cm, made for vertical surfaces only. If you want the same concrete look underfoot, there are porcelain floor and outdoor collections in a matching palette, and we can help you coordinate the two.
Which finish suits a concrete look, matte or gloss?
Matte is truer to cast concrete and is what most designers choose for feature walls. Gloss adds light and cleans marginally easier, which earns it a place on backsplashes. If you are unsure, take one sample of each home and view them side by side.
How do the four colours differ?
Off White is a pale plaster tone, Grit a classic light concrete grey, Mud a warm greige, and Fume the darkest of the four, a smoky charcoal. They share the same mottled face, so mixing two of them in one room stays coherent.
Do I need special grout for a seamless look?
Pick a grout within a shade of the tile: warm grey for Mud, charcoal for Fume, and so on. A close match hides the joints and lets the concrete effect run uninterrupted. Your installer can tune the joint width; tighter joints strengthen the illusion.
