Calacatta CX Mosaic
Classic Calacatta marble in 2x2 mosaic format.

Calacatta CX Mosaic
Calacatta CX Mosaic brings the prestigious gold-veined Calacatta marble look into a 2x2 square mosaic format. Ideal for luxury shower floors, bathroom niches, and kitchen backsplash accents.
Gold-veined Calacatta is the marble people picture when they think of a luxurious bathroom, and Calacatta CX Mosaic delivers that look as a 2x2 square mosaic on 12x12 sheets. The white ground with warm gold veining is printed in non-repeating faces, so the veining wanders across a shower floor the way it would in real stone.
Real Calacatta in a shower is an exercise in caution: sealing schedules, careful cleaner choices, watching for etching. This glazed porcelain version needs none of it. At 8mm with a matte finish, it is suited to shower floors and wet walls, and it gives Vancouver ensuite projects the marble centrepiece look at tile-level maintenance.

Applications
Where Calacatta CX Mosaic Works
Ensuite shower floors
The matte finish and dense grout grid make a secure wet-room floor, while the gold veining lifts what is usually the plainest surface in the shower into a feature.
Niche accents
Lined with this mosaic, a niche inside a plain white surround becomes a focal point, and the veined chips wrap the small recess for the cost of a couple of sheets.
Vanity backsplashes
Behind a vanity, the 2x2 grid gives marble veining a softer, more textured read than a single slab, and it pairs naturally with white quartz counters and mirrors.
Tub surrounds
Small chips negotiate the corners, curves and ledges of a tub deck far more gracefully than large tile, keeping the marble look continuous around the whole surround.
Design Notes
Pairing & Layout Ideas
The Calacatta CX field collection shares the same white and gold face in large formats, so walls and floor can run big tile with the mosaic reserved for the pan and niche. For a higher-contrast scheme, Marquina CX Mosaic offers the same format in black with gold veining, a striking niche-and-floor pairing. Brushed gold fixtures are the obvious hardware match, with white or pale grey grout keeping the field bright and the veining in charge.
FAQ
Calacatta CX Mosaic Questions
Does the gold veining look metallic?
The veining is a warm gold-beige tone printed in the glaze, not a metallic foil, so it reads as natural stone rather than glitter. Under warm lighting it picks up richness, and under cool white light it reads softer and slightly more grey-gold.
Is a matte marble look right for a shower floor?
Yes, and it is the correct choice. Polished surfaces get slippery when wet, so a matte glaze with the added grip of mosaic grout joints is what we recommend underfoot in showers. You keep the Calacatta look without the skating rink underfoot.
Will it match the Calacatta CX large format tile?
They are designed as one program, sharing the same colouring and veining style, so the mosaic pan reads as a continuation of the walls rather than a near-miss. Seeing them together before ordering is easy, since both hang in our Richmond showroom.
What grout colour should I use?
Most installations use a bright white or warm off-white grout, which disappears into the ground colour and lets the veining flow. A pale grey works if your scheme runs cooler. Avoid dark grout unless you deliberately want a strong visible grid pattern.
