Soft Cement Mosaic
Refined cement in 2x2 mosaic format.

Soft Cement Mosaic
Soft Cement Mosaic captures the contemporary concrete aesthetic of the Soft Cement collection in a 2x2 square mosaic format. Ideal for industrial-modern shower floors and accent walls.
Soft Cement Mosaic renders the smooth, troweled look of contemporary concrete in a 2x2 glazed porcelain mosaic on 12x12 sheets. Graphite, Silver and White cover the concrete spectrum from charcoal to pale, each with the gentle tonal shifts of the Soft Cement collection and non-repeating faces that keep sheets reading as one continuous surface.
Actual concrete in a shower would be porous, cold to maintain and prone to hairline cracking, but porcelain gives the aesthetic a body that ignores water and cleaners entirely. At 8mm and matte, it is built for pans, niches and backsplashes in the minimalist and industrial-modern schemes popular across the newer builds of Metro Vancouver.

Applications
Where Soft Cement Mosaic Works
Shower floors
The 2x2 grid is the classic shower pan build: sheets follow the slope, grout joints add grip, and the concrete tones disguise soap and water marks between cleanings.
Minimalist backsplashes
Behind a kitchen or laundry counter, the smooth cement look adds texture without introducing pattern, holding its own beside warm wood cabinetry as easily as flat white lacquer.
Accent bands
A horizontal band of Graphite running through a Silver or White wall gives a shower architectural structure from within one collection, with no borrowed accent tile required.
Powder room floors
The concrete look at mosaic scale suits compact floors, where sheets minimize cutting and the added grout grip is welcome in a room that regularly sees wet feet.
Design Notes
Pairing & Layout Ideas
The Soft Cement field collection continues the same troweled look in large formats, the intended route being big tile on the walls with mosaic in the pan. Metro Mosaic is the rougher, more urban cousin if adjacent spaces want a grittier concrete character. Concrete-toned quartz counters, matte black fixtures and white oak slats are natural companions. A grout matched to the chip colour preserves the seamless, monolithic effect that makes cement looks work so well.
FAQ
Soft Cement Mosaic Questions
Graphite, Silver or White for a shower floor?
Silver is the most common choice, balancing brightness with forgiveness of daily marks. Graphite anchors light-walled showers and hides the most, while White suits small spaces chasing maximum light. All three share the same texture, so it is purely a tone decision.
Will it feel cold like real concrete?
Porcelain conducts heat like any tile, so it feels the same as other tiled floors, and unlike site-poured concrete it works over standard heated floor systems. Pair it with in-floor heat and the concrete look becomes genuinely warm underfoot every morning.
How is this different from Metro Mosaic?
Both are concrete looks, but Soft Cement is smoother and more refined, closer to polished plaster, while Metro carries a rawer, more urban character and a different colour range. Deciding usually takes about a minute with the two side by side.
Does the grout stain in a concrete look scheme?
The tile will not stain, and the grout holds up well if you choose a quality stain-resistant or epoxy product in a tone matched to the chips. That combination keeps the monolithic look intact for years with nothing more than routine cleaning.
