Marmo Slab is dark marble distilled: a black sintered stone panel, 48x110 inches, with the depth and subtle movement of a fine nero stone. Polished turns it glassy and formal; matte pulls it toward a soft, architectural charcoal-black. Either way, one panel carries the drama across an island or wall without interruption.
Where natural black marble etches from lemon juice and needs regular sealing, sintered stone is non-porous, heat resistant and UV stable at just 6mm thick. It is rated for indoor and outdoor use on counters, walls and floors, so the same black surface can move from a Metro Vancouver kitchen island to a covered outdoor bar without changing material.

A black slab island is the strongest single move a kitchen can make, and this one takes hot pans, acids and knives without etching or sealing.

Pairing & Layout Ideas
Black marble character pairs with almost every current kitchen direction: white oak for contrast and warmth, deep green cabinetry for a heritage mood, or full black-on-black for drama. Underfoot, keep the floor lighter; Blanco or Cream LF prevent the scheme from tipping heavy. Brass and gold hardware glow against the dark face, while matte black fixtures disappear into it elegantly. Light the surface deliberately, since darkness this deep rewards a good pendant.

Does the black surface show fingerprints?
Polished black shows prints and water spots more readily, the trade-off for its mirror depth. The matte finish is considerably more forgiving and is our usual suggestion for busy kitchen counters, with polished saved for walls and low-touch surfaces.
How does it compare to real nero marble?
Visually it captures the character; practically it behaves very differently. Natural black marble etches from acids, scratches white and demands sealing. The sintered panel does none of this, so you keep the look without adjusting how you cook and clean.
Can Marmo Slab go on the floor?
Yes, floors are within its rated applications, with the matte finish recommended for grip when wet. A black floor is a bold but low-upkeep choice in this material, though pale dust will show, so expect slightly more frequent sweeping than a mid-tone floor.
Is the 6mm thickness strong enough for counters?
Yes, when fabricated and supported correctly, 6mm sintered panels perform well as countertops, and mitred edges can create a thicker visual profile if you want one. Fabricators handle the cutting and support details, which we can coordinate for you.
