Soft Cement

Soft Cement captures the contemporary appeal of polished concrete in a refined porcelain format. The soft graphite tones and smooth texture create sophisticated, minimalist interiors with an urban edge.

The appeal of polished concrete without the concrete: Soft Cement renders that urban, softly mottled surface in glazed porcelain, in Graphite, Grey and White. All matte, all non-repeating, and offered as 24x24 and 24x48 field tile plus a 2x2 square mosaic, so the cement look can run from an open floor into a shower pan.

Where real concrete cracks, dusts and needs sealing, this 8mm porcelain does none of it. It suits the minimalist and industrial-leaning interiors common in Metro Vancouver townhomes and condos, and works hard in commercial spaces too. The three tones are close enough to combine, a graphite feature wall over a grey floor, without leaving the collection.

Applications

Where Soft Cement Works

Minimalist main floors

Grey in the 24x48 format delivers the seamless concrete-loft look across kitchens and living areas, with the durability and easy cleaning real concrete floors struggle to match.

Showers with matching pans

Because the collection includes a 2x2 mosaic, the shower floor, walls and bathroom floor can share one cement face, with the mosaic supplying traction and drainage slope.

Graphite feature walls

The darkest colourway makes a quiet, architectural backdrop for bedrooms, media walls and staircases, adding real depth to a room without relying on pattern, gloss or trim details.

Workspaces and studios

A matte cement look floor suits offices, studios and retail where the aesthetic should read considered but not decorated, and the porcelain shrugs off rolling loads.

Design Notes

Pairing & Layout Ideas

Soft Cement anchors palettes rather than starring in them. Pale woods, white oak, matte black fixtures and greenery are its natural company; White and Grey suit Scandinavian rooms, Graphite suits moodier industrial schemes. Use matching grout so walls and floors read as poured surfaces. If you want the same urban tone with a flatter, more technical face, compare Neotec; for more stone-like movement, look at Town in the same range.

FAQ

Soft Cement Questions

How is this different from real polished concrete?

Practically, in every way that matters: no curing, no cracking, no sealing schedule, and consistent colour from batch to batch. Visually it keeps the mottled, softly varied character. It also installs over standard subfloors, so you get the look in a second-storey bathroom where a concrete pour is unrealistic.

Can all three colours be mixed in one home?

Yes, they are drawn from the same palette, so transitions between rooms feel intentional. A common approach is Grey for main floors, White in bathrooms, and Graphite on one feature surface. Order samples of the trio to check the steps between them in your own light.

What is the mosaic for?

Shower floors first and foremost: the 2 x 2 squares give the installer the grout lines needed to slope to a drain and give you grip underfoot. It also lines niches and makes a border detail while staying in the same cement face.

Does a cement look tile feel cold?

Any tile is cool to the touch, but appearance and temperature are separate things. Pair it with in-floor heating, which porcelain conducts well, and rugs in seating areas. Visually, the White and Grey tones read considerably softer and warmer than actual site-poured concrete.
