Etnos delivers a bold, dramatic dark stone aesthetic in large format porcelain. The deep ebano tones and natural stone texture create powerful, sophisticated interiors with an industrial edge.
Dark floors are a commitment, and Etnos makes the case for them. Its deep Ebano Black colourway carries genuine stone texture and movement, backed by a Grey alternative, in large 24x48 and 48x48 formats. Matte and polished finishes are both offered, and non-repeating faces keep the darkness varied and alive rather than flat.
As 8mm glazed porcelain for indoor floors and walls, Etnos delivers drama with ordinary upkeep: no sealing, no fading, a damp mop for maintenance. The 48x48 square is a distinctive format that reads architectural in Metro Vancouver lofts, restaurants and contemporary houses, where big, dark, minimal surfaces are the whole point of the design.

Etnos asks for deliberate lighting and warm counterweights: oak or walnut cabinetry, cream walls, linen and brass all keep a dark floor from swallowing the room. Grey offers a step down in intensity for adjoining spaces, or bridge to the gold veined warmth of Horizon on a feature wall for contrast. Charcoal grout on Ebano is the way to keep the surface monolithic; anything lighter turns the floor into a grid and changes the whole effect.

Etnos Questions
Do dark tiles show dust and footprints?
More than mid greys, yes, and the matte finish manages this considerably better than polished, since it scatters light instead of highlighting marks. The stone movement in Etnos also helps disguise everyday dust. Expect to mop high traffic dark floors somewhat more often than pale ones.
Where does the 48x48 format work well?
Big, open rooms. The square format suits lofts, living areas and commercial spaces where its scale can register; in tight rooms it forces many cuts. Rooms under about ten feet across are usually happier with the 24x48 rectangle from the same collection.
Is Ebano pure black?
No, and that is its strength: the colourway is a deep black with natural stone movement running through it, so it reads richer and less severe than a printed flat black. The Grey colourway shares the same character several shades lighter.
Should I see Etnos in person before ordering?
