Calacatta Imperiale

Calacatta Imperiale features dramatic grey and gold veining on a luminous white base, capturing the grandeur of one of Italy's most prized marbles in a maintenance-free porcelain format.

Grey and gold veins share the same white canvas in Calacatta Imperiale, a combination taken from Italy's most recognized marble varieties. The two-tone veining is what sets it apart: cooler grey provides structure while gold threads add warmth, printed across eight non-repeating face styles so no two tiles in a layout read as identical twins.

The collection is porcelain, so the luxury is low effort. Nothing needs sealing, spills sit on the surface, and the finish stands up to pets, boots and daily traffic. For Metro Vancouver renovations it bridges warm and cool palettes, which makes it a flexible pick when your fixtures are black but your cabinetry leans warm, or the reverse.

Applications

Where Calacatta Imperiale Works

Kitchen floors and backsplashes

Run matte on the floor and repeat the same tile polished on the backsplash. The dual veining ties into both stainless appliances and brass cabinet hardware.

Ensuite retreats

Wrap walls and floor in one material for a calm ensuite. Matte underfoot for grip, polished on the walls where the gold threads catch the light.

Fireplace and media walls

Stacked 24x48 panels deliver the presence of a slab-clad chimney breast in a lighter, easier-to-handle format, and porcelain is unbothered by the heat of a fireplace insert.

Front entries

First impressions take a beating from grit and rain. A 1cm porcelain entry floor in matte shrugs both off while setting the tone for the rest of the house.

Design Notes

Pairing & Layout Ideas

Calacatta Imperiale's mixed veining lets you commit to either temperature: pull the gold forward with brass and walnut, or the grey with black fixtures and cool white paint. Warm white grout suits walls; a pale grey wears better on floors. Its closest neighbours in the lineup are Calcatta Oro, which is warmer, and Statuario Imperiale, which is cooler, so comparing all three side by side is a useful exercise.

FAQ

Calacatta Imperiale Questions

What is the difference between Calacatta Imperiale and Calcatta Oro?

Veining colour. Calcatta Oro is white and gold only, giving a consistently warm look, while Calacatta Imperiale mixes grey veins with gold accents, so it reads more balanced and slightly more dramatic. If your palette is undecided, Imperiale is the more flexible of the two.

Is polished porcelain slippery?

It can be when wet, which is why we suggest matte for bathroom floors, entries and kitchens. On walls, backsplashes and dry-area floors, polished poses no practical issue, and it delivers the light and depth people want from a marble look.

What sizes does the collection come in?

Two: 24x48 and 24x24 inches. The larger panel suits floors, showers and feature walls where fewer grout lines matter; the square works for classic grid layouts and smaller rooms. Both share identical colouring and can be combined in the same space.

How much extra tile should I order?

Plan on roughly ten percent over your measured area for cuts and breakage, a little more for diagonal or pattern layouts. Ordering everything at once also keeps the production batch consistent, which matters with printed veining like this.
